The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed a regional council member and three of his accomplices who collaborated with the enemy in the occupied part of Kherson.
The SBU press service reported this.
According to investigators, four Russian supporters have been detained for collaborating with the enemy and conducting business in the occupied territory of the Kakhovka district of the left bank of the Kherson region.
Among those detained were a deputy of the Kherson Regional Council and three local entrepreneurs: the spouses of heads of agricultural enterprises and the director of one of them.
It was established that the deputy is the owner of two Ukrainian enterprises in the field of transport maintenance and grain cultivation.
During the occupation, he re-registered enterprises under Russian law, worked under the direction of the Russian administration, and paid taxes into the enemy’s budget.
He was also responsible for the enterprises of other defendants in the case in the Kakhovka district.
The deputy obtained permits from the Russian occupation administration for land cultivation, organized fuel supplies, and hired workers. He also handled the registration of vehicles and agricultural machinery with Russian authorities and oversaw the submission of reports to the occupation authorities.
The spouses of agribusiness owners and their director controlled the businesses’ operations and submitted applications to the so-called Ministry of Agro-Industrial Complex, Food Policy, and Fisheries of the Kherson Oblast of the Russian Federation for more than 5 million rubles in subsidies from the occupation authorities.
This year, the deputy left the occupied part of the Kherson region for Odessa, where he was detained by SBU officers.
In particular, the detainee was charged under Part 5 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 28, and Part 4 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The offender is in custody.
The other defendants in the case are hiding from justice in the temporarily occupied left bank of the Kherson region. They have been notified in absentia of their suspicions under the same articles.
