A new strain of COVID-19 is gaining momentum in Kyiv: the number of hospitalized people has increased

The number of people hospitalized with the new COVID stamp is increasing in Kyiv, and among the patients there are people in serious condition.

This was reported by the head of the Kyiv City State Administration Department of Health, Valentina Ginzburg.

“The number of hospitalized people is increasing, including those in serious condition,” Ginzburg noted.

She also added that there are patients who are under medical supervision around the clock and require a ventilator.

“This is absolutely seasonal. Before September, the number of returns, migration activities, and people coming from other countries increases. And the main thing is that we do not comply with security measures,” Ginzburg explained.

She emphasized the importance of following safety measures in crowded places or indoors, as carriers are impossible to spot.

Earlier , Kyiv recorded a rapid increase in hospitalizations due to COVID-19 . In a month, the number of patients in hospitals increased more than fourfold, a quarter of them children.

Recall that22 countries around the world have recorded the rapid spread of a new variant of COVID-19 . It has already been called “Nimbus”.
