Already 11 countries have turned to Ukraine for help in countering Iranian drones
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that 11 countries have requested assistance from Ukraine in countering Iranian drones. These are countries from the Middle East, Europe, and America that are interested in Ukrainian experience in countering drones.
He wrote about this in Telegram .
Zelensky noted that the security situation was discussed during a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters. The main topic was the war in Iran and its possible consequences for the region, global markets, and the security of Ukraine’s partners.
“I held a meeting. First of all, about destabilization due to the war in Iran and the corresponding risks for global markets, countries in the region, and Ukraine’s closest partners who support us in defending against Russian aggression,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
According to him, during the meeting, reports were heard from the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, heads of intelligence, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and the Minister of Defense. The meeting participants analyzed the prospects for the development of the war in Iran and the possible consequences of its prolongation.
The President said that partner states are turning to Ukraine for support in countering Iranian drones and other similar threats. According to him, the countries are interested in Ukrainian experience in using interception systems, electronic warfare means, and training specialists.
“As of now, there are 11 requests from countries – Iran’s neighbors, European states, and America. There is a clear interest in Ukrainian experience in protecting life, relevant interceptors, electronic warfare systems, and training,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
He also noted that Ukraine is ready to respond positively to appeals from those states that assist Ukrainian defense.
“We have already responded to some of the requests with specific solutions and specific support,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, the NSDC, together with the General Staff and the Defense Forces, will determine what other requests Ukraine will be able to respond to without reducing its own defense capabilities.
The President emphasized that it is important to prevent Iran’s position in the region from strengthening and to ensure stability in global markets.
“Ukraine’s priority is clear: the Iranian regime should not gain any advantage over defenders of life,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine would send a group of experts to the Persian Gulf countries to train the military to shoot down strike drones . The first group of Ukrainian specialists is scheduled to leave for the region on March 9.
It was previously reported that representatives of the US Department of Defense visited Ukraine to discuss the possible use of Ukrainian experience in countering drones . The point is the development of cheaper means of intercepting drones that can be used by the American side.
By the way,the US has officially asked Ukraine to share its experience in intercepting Iranian Shahed strike drones. This is because Iran’s rapid counterattack using cheap and easy-to-manufacture drones after the start of the US-Israeli military campaign demonstrated the vulnerability of the US and its regional allies.
Recall that the United States and Middle Eastern countries are negotiating with Ukraine to purchase interceptor drones to repel drone attacks from Iran.
