Artificial intelligence is already significantly complicating the employment of young professionals in software development and customer service, moving from the realm of theory to real-world consequences.

This is stated in a study by Stanford University, which is cited by Axios.

Entry-level employees in accounting, engineering, and administrative support jobs have lost about 13% of their jobs in three years, according to a Stanford University study. At the same time, more experienced workers in the same fields have maintained or even improved their positions, and less technologically advanced professionals, such as caregivers, are consistently in demand.

According to Stanford professor Erik Brynjolfsson, the pace of change is unlike anything he has seen since the introduction of remote work during COVID-19. He compares AI to new university graduates who have a lot of theory but no practical experience—unlike experienced workers whose skills are difficult to automate.

The study is part of a growing wave of analytics on the impact of generative AI on the job market, the latest of which became even more relevant after the appearance of ChatGPT in November 2022, which accelerated the implementation of artificial intelligence in programming, customer service, and even therapy.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine announced the launch of the first state infrastructure for the development and scaling of artificial intelligence products – the AI Factory project.
