Media outlets controlled by the Office of the President are actively spreading the theses of political strategist Valentyn Hladkykh about Yuriy Lutsenko’s communist past and his statements from 25 years ago. Thus, Bankova is trying to discredit the fifth President by publishing alleged compromising material on Petro Poroshenko’s associates.
This opinion was expressed on the air of “Pryamoy” by political scientist Volodymyr Tsybulko.
“First, we should not confuse Yuriy Lutsenko with Vitaliy Lutsenko, his father. His father was indeed the secretary of the Rivne Communist Party of Ukraine. But Yuriy Lutsenko, a native of a communist family, drifted towards the national-democratic camp. Let us recall, by the way, for example, the “Ukraine without Kuchma” action, which was organized by “UNS members” and mostly patriotic deputies. And Yuriy Lutsenko was there. His political party “Samooborona” is more of a center-right than a center-left project,” Tsybulko noted.
According to him, in this way Bankova is trying to discredit the fifth President by publishing allegedly compromising information about Petro Poroshenko’s associates.
“If this mentioned, frankly speaking, not very intelligent and not very moral “type” who writes about Lutsenko, then let him compare, for example, Lutsenko’s drift towards the center-right camp and Zelensky’s drift to just some meaningful behavior. They don’t want to see this. They want to tie some, it seems to them, compromising behavior of his associates to Poroshenko. Wait. The fact that you are in Zelensky’s camp is already compromising evidence, it is already a compromising circumstance,” the political scientist explains.
In addition, he commented on the identity of the “positive blogger Bankova” who spreads such “exposures” about Lutsenko.
“I mean this not very smart “type” who suddenly, in a rather difficult situation for Ukraine, launched an attack on the national-democratic camp. Let me remind you that we have a war – the fourth year of an intensive war and the 12th year of a war in general, aggression against Ukraine. I have not seen this character anywhere being seen volunteering for the benefit of the Armed Forces, who writes about Lutsenko, it seemed, in some exposés. However, it is known that his late brother was an FSB general in the Russian Federation. Why does Zelensky keep these characters with him, in his service? That is the question,” the studio guest ponders.
“The same question to the SBU: what is this character, who writes very unflattering things about Lutsenko, doing in the orbit of the so-called positive bloggers of Bankova? Did they definitely check him out, or are they allowed on Bankova without questions?” – summed up political analyst Volodymyr Tsybulko.
Recently, reports began to spread actively in the media and social networks that Petro Poroshenko’s ally Yuriy Lutsenko allegedly ridiculed Ukrainian symbols and UPA soldiers before the war , repeating in detail the theses of Russian propaganda, with reference to political expert Valentin Gladkikh, who published fragments of the politician’s interview with the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper.
Instead, during meetings in Brussels, European politicians actively discuss the persecution of the opposition in Ukraine and the restriction of their rights. Despite the “crazy Ukrainian lobby”, the European Commission clearly states that Bankova’s actions are thwarting all efforts for the speedy integration of our country into the EU.
As the influential German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung notes, the Ukrainian authorities are increasing pressure on the opposition in the midst of a terrible war , while opposition politicians are calling for unity. The newspaper mentions the travel ban for deputies, the dismissal of mayors, and sanctions against opposition politicians – in February, extrajudicial sanctions were imposed against the leader of the “Eurosolidarity” party, Petro Poroshenko.
In addition, The Economist writes about the lack of democracy in Ukraine , the persecution of political opponents and the concentration of power. The authors note that after the government’s attack on anti-corruption agencies in Ukraine, protests broke out, forcing the authorities to retreat. “Trust between the government and society has been destroyed,” the publication quotes one of the high-ranking officials.
