Belarus has announced its readiness to allow Ukrainians into border forests to pick mushrooms and berries. At the same time, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine emphasizes that the border with Belarus remains dangerous, and no changes are planned in the regime of its crossing.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by the Border Committee of Belarus and a comment by the spokesman for the State Border Service of the Republic of Belarus, Andriy Demchenko.

The Border Committee of Belarus has announced that it is ready to organize a seasonal simplified pass for residents of the Ukrainian border region to the Olmanskiye Bolota nature reserve in the Brest region. For this purpose, it is proposed to use three simplified pass points in the directions of the villages of Drozdyn, Berezove, and Poznan in the Rivne region.

Minsk explained this initiative by the “principles of good neighborliness” and the tradition by which residents of border regions have been picking mushrooms and berries in these territories for years.

However, the State Border Service of Ukraine urges not to perceive this proposal as safe. Service spokesman Andriy Demchenko stressed that restrictions are currently in place on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, and the area itself remains potentially dangerous.

According to him, minefields have been installed along the border, and Ukraine continues to strengthen engineering and fortification structures.

Demchenko also noted that Belarus continues to support Russia in the war against Ukraine, so Kyiv sees no reason for any softening of the regime in this direction.

“Until Belarus stops supporting a terrorist country, there will be no changes along the border,” the spokesman for the State Border Service of the Republic of Belarus emphasized.

It was previously reported that Ukraine is currently not recording a concentration of troops near the border with Belarus, but the threat from this direction remains.

Recall that Russia is considering several scenarios for new offensive operations in the Chernihiv-Kyiv direction, which may begin no earlier than the fall of 2026. To this end, the Kremlin, according to sources, is planning a new wave of mobilization of 100,000 people.
