The standoff in the Middle East demonstrates the gap between the official statements of individual US politicians and the actual actions of the Israeli army. While Donald Trump reports a near victory, Israel is implementing a strategy of gradually destroying the top of the Iranian regime.

Diplomat and presenter Dmitry Chekalkin noted on the air of “Pryamoy” that the Israeli position looks much more realistic than American political slogans.

“As for Trump, unfortunately, as some joke, his worldview is a cocktail of late Brezhnev, Chernovetsky, and Chernomyrdin. That is, what he broadcasts absolutely does not coincide with reality,” the studio guest ironically says.

According to the diplomat, Israeli forces are consistently eliminating key figures in Iran’s defense structures. In particular, the destruction of the head of the Supreme National Security Council, the second number in “ul-Jihad al-Islam” and the head of the “people’s militia” has been confirmed. At the same time, European countries refuse to take an active part in resolving the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that this is not their war.

At the same time, Chekalkin noted that Europe’s dependence on oil from the Persian Gulf is only 2%, so US calls for help do not find wide support. Instead, such events are taking place against the backdrop of contradictory statements by American politicians regarding the timing of the end of the war, because while the US is talking about an imminent victory, the real situation on the ground requires the painstaking work of the special services, the diplomat emphasizes.

On the eve of the meeting, US President Donald Trump said that the United States no longer needs the help of allies for the operation to restore shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, the American military has allegedly already achieved significant success by destroying the army, navy, air force, air defense systems of Iran, as well as the country’s leaders, so Washington does not need NATO’s help.

Earlier, the United States received refusals from NATO member countries to participate in a military operation in the Middle East. At the time, this outraged Trump, who emphasized that he was not surprised by the reaction of the allies, as he had always considered NATO a structure that was not ready to help the United States.

Recall that against the backdrop of the third week of the US military operation against Iran, allies are pressuring President Donald Trump to explain the goals and timing of the conflict. At the same time, the White House, according to sources, is not providing the allies with detailed information about further plans for the war.
