Defense of Pokrovsk: the Armed Forces of Ukraine revealed the real situation

The situation in the Dobropil and Pokrov directions in the Donetsk region is quite difficult, but not critical, despite the enemy’s advance on this section of the front. At the same time, the situation is being artificially inflated, as the Russians have not yet achieved any real operational successes.

This was reported on the air of “Pryamoy” by Myroslav Gai, a major in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, head of the “Mir i Ko” charitable foundation.

“There is no such dramatic situation there. I am calling my comrades. It is really difficult there, there are problems. The Russians have the advantage of air assets. They dominate in aviation, artillery, drones. But the road, the one you mentioned, was under enemy fire last year. And, in principle, it is quite dangerous to drive where it was. The fact that small infantry groups are seeping in somewhere is simply quite difficult to detect,” Guy informs.

At the same time, periodically using small motorcycle or infantry groups, they manage to “just by some miracle” move in a certain direction, but then they are found and destroyed, the military officer added.

In his opinion, the situation is being artificially inflated, because the Russians have no real operational successes in these areas.

“This hysteria is quite artificially contrived. There are problems there. But we have been discussing the “encirclement and fall” of Pokrovsky for the second year. We have been discussing the “fall” of Chasovy Yar for the second year. So far, there are no signs that the Russians are having any operational success there. There are some tactical successes, but they are also on the part of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” the major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasizes.

“Therefore, I don’t think we need to dramatize the situation. It is difficult, extremely difficult, but any war, especially a war with an enemy that has advantages in terms of mobilization, advantages in terms of the amount of ammunition for large-caliber artillery, advantages in drones, and an air component, is a complex war, it could never be easy here,” summed up Myroslav Gai, head of the “Mir i Ko” charitable foundation.

As a reminder, information about an alleged breakthrough of the troops of the aggressor country Russia in the Pokrovsky direction has recently begun to spread online. According to the military, these rumors are not true and “do not reflect real facts.”

The Armed Forces of Ukraine stressed that the situation, although tense, is under control. The 1st Operational Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov” has been deployed here to support the defense, which has already taken up designated positions and is blocking the enemy’s attempts to advance.

Earlier, it was reported about the advance of the Russian occupiers in the areas of Kucherevoy Yar, Zolotye Kolodyaz, and Maiske. The operational command of the “Dnipro” reported that the infiltration of the enemy in the Dobropil and Pokrovsk directions does not mean the capture or control of the territory.

Meanwhile, the situation in the front-line city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, remains critical — the city is virtually cut off from external communications, is constantly under fire, and it is impossible to deliver humanitarian or medical aid there.
