The Hungarian government has released a video of the detention of Ukrainian collection vehicles and bank employees by anti-terrorist forces. The footage shows the moment of a special operation at a gas station.
This was reported by the press service of the institution.
The released footage shows armed officers from the TEK anti-terrorist center surrounding Ukrainian debt collection vehicles. The special forces blocked traffic right near the gas stations.
After that, the passengers and drivers of the collection vehicles were forcibly removed from the vehicles for further investigative actions.
So far, the Hungarian side has not provided detailed explanations regarding the reasons for the involvement of the anti-terrorist unit in the detention of the bank employees.
It is reported that the incident caused a stir because it involved the detention of personnel from a financial institution in another country.
As a reminder, Foreign Minister Andriy Szybiga stated that Hungarian authorities in Budapest detained seven Ukrainian citizens — employees of Oschadbank — and seized the money they were transporting. Meanwhile, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stated that Budapest is demanding explanations from Ukraine regarding the transportation of significant amounts of cash and gold through Hungarian territory.
It should be noted that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban visited the country’s anti-terrorist center on the day the Ukrainian tax collection vehicles transiting through Hungary to Ukraine were seized . Later that day, security forces from this unit seized tax collection vehicles with currency and gold.
As reported, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Ukrainians refrain from traveling to Hungary.
Later, media reported that seven Oschadbank collectors who had previously been detained in Hungary had been deported from the country. At the same time, the National Police of Ukraine opened criminal cases over the kidnapping of seven Ukrainian collectors and an Oschadbank company car in Hungary.
