“Diya” launches a new feature for drivers: what will change from 2026

The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a resolution that, starting next year, will allow drivers to record traffic accidents on the spot through the “Diya” application, without calling the police and paperwork.

This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko.

“The government has adopted a resolution that opens the possibility of launching a full cycle of processing a European protocol in “Diya”. Starting from the first quarter of 2026, drivers will be able to record road accidents without the police and paper documents – right at the scene of the incident,” the prime minister noted.

Thanks to the new service, “Diya” will automatically pull data from state registers: driver’s licenses, vehicle registration certificates, and insurance. This allows you to avoid errors that could previously lead to denial of insurance payments.

“It’s enough to take a few photos, agree on the information with the other party, and sign the document using Action.Signature,” Svyrydenko explained.

Users will be able to track the status of a traffic accident in the application, without trips to the insurance company or additional applications. According to the Prime Minister, the new service will significantly simplify the settlement of accidents and reduce the burden on the police.

Recall that in Ukraine they want to make tachographs mandatory for trucks and passenger vehicles, as well as define clear rules for the duration of driving and rest periods for drivers. The goal of the innovations is to bring Ukrainian legislation closer to European standards and increase road safety.
