For the first time in Ukraine, seized virtual assets were transferred to the Asset Tracking and Management Agency (ARMA). Over 8.3 million USDT, equivalent to over 372 million hryvnias, were transferred to the agency’s crypto wallet.
This was announced by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.
According to the Prosecutor General, over 8.3 million USDT was transferred to the ARMA crypto wallet. This is the first case in the history of Ukraine when seized crypto assets were actually transferred to state management.
These are digital assets that were located on crypto wallets controlled by a member of an international hacking group. According to the investigation, the group members carried out cyberattacks on citizens and companies in Europe and the United States, stole confidential information, demanded ransoms, and legalized the funds received in Ukraine through the purchase of real estate, cars, and other expensive property.
According to the investigation, the estimated losses from the group’s activities exceed 100 million US dollars. As part of the investigation, law enforcement officers detained 4 participants, including the organizer. All of them are in custody.
Assets worth over $11.1 million were also seized, including residential buildings, apartments, cars, $1 million in cash, and virtual assets equivalent to over $8.3 million.
