Iran will receive $300 billion in investments after signing a deal with the US: what is known

The agreement that the US and Iran are to agree upon after signing a memorandum of understanding involves the creation of a $300 billion investment fund for the Iranian economy.

According to the agency, the fund is being created to provide both sides with an economic incentive to reach a final peace agreement. The initiative also covers the issue of Iran’s nuclear program.

The source noted that the fund will be private and will not involve the use of public funds or grants.

Companies from the United States, the Gulf countries, Asia, South America, and Africa have already expressed interest in financing projects in Iran.

According to the publication, about half of the required amount has already been secured. The funds are planned to be used for the development of energy, logistics, and transport infrastructure.

Also, according to an Iranian source, Tehran initially demanded $400 billion in compensation from the United States for the damages caused, but Washington refused this offer. After that, the idea of creating a “Reconstruction and Development Fund” emerged.

The mechanism provides for the provision of loans, credits, opening credit lines, or direct financing to regions of the country for the restoration of facilities damaged during the war.

This includes, in particular, the Mobarake metallurgical complex, oil refineries, airports, and other infrastructure facilities that were damaged as a result of the conflict.

In addition, Iran has attracted virtually no foreign investment for many years, as it has been cut off from global capital markets due to sanctions from the US and other countries.

The fund is expected to become fully operational after a final peace agreement is reached between Washington and Tehran.

Earlier, “Pryamy” reported that the United States and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding , which should become the basis for further negotiations between the countries. The document outlines key principles of cooperation, including on issues of the nuclear program, sanctions, and security in the region.

US President Donald Trump also announced that a peace agreement had been reached between the United States and Iran. According to him, the agreement includes the opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the lifting of the naval blockade by the US Navy.
