The statements of the Russian dictator’s aide, Yuri Ushakov, about allegedly receiving proposals from Washington to resolve the war are an attempt to drive a wedge between Ukraine and the U.S. Despite public statements, the aggressor does not plan to stop the fighting, but is only trying to negotiate favorable terms.

The head of the Center for Analysis and Strategies, Igor Chalenko, analyzed these messages on the air of “Pryamoy”, pointing out their manipulative nature and the lack of real steps towards peace on the part of Moscow.

He noted that the Russian side continues to speculate on the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from the Donetsk region. The studio guest emphasizes that despite public statements, the aggressor does not plan to stop hostilities, but is only trying to negotiate favorable conditions through American partners.

“It stinks, again, of the spirit of Anchorage. So, something was agreed upon there in August last year in Alaska. The Russians continue to speculate on the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the territory of the Donetsk region. Although in reality they have no plans to directly stop the war,” Chalenko noted.

According to him, the Kremlin is broadcasting messages about its readiness to fight to the administrative borders of Donbas specifically for the American segment. At the same time, Russian oligarchs continue to finance the military machine, allocating billions of dollars to continue the aggression against Ukraine, Chalenko added.

As a reminder, Finnish President Alexander Stubb reported that the trilateral talks between Ukraine, the US and Russia have effectively reached a deadlock . According to him, after three rounds of talks in the winter, there are currently no signs of further progress. One of the reasons may be the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East, in particular the war in Iran, which is distracting international attention.

Earlier, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, said that trilateral talks between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia are currently suspended . Despite this pause, Ukraine and Russia continue to cooperate on humanitarian issues – in particular, on the exchange of prisoners of war and the bodies of the dead.
