Hungary has lifted the deportation order and three-year Schengen entry ban imposed on seven employees of Oschadbank, effectively restoring their right to enter and stay within the Schengen area, according to official reports.

This is reported by Oschadbank.

On May 18, the Hungarian General Directorate of the Police for Foreigners officially lifted all previously imposed restrictions on Ukrainian bank employees. The Hungarian side also decided to remove the relevant entries from state registers immediately.

This is a decision dated March 6, 2026, in which the Hungarian authorities decided to deport Ukrainian collectors of Oschadbank and to ban them from entering the Schengen zone.

The reason for the cancellation was that the Hungarian constitutional protection body withdrew its previous conclusions about the alleged threat to national security posed by Ukrainians.

This happened after Oschadbank filed an appeal with the court. At the same time, the Hungarian side did not wait for the case in Budapest to be completed and independently canceled its decisions.

Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank Yuriy Katsion stated that this was confirmation of the bank’s rightness.

According to him, it was possible to protect not only employees’ rights but also the reputation of the state-owned bank, which operates exclusively within the framework of international law.

Oschadbank also thanked the president of Ukraine, the National Bank, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the law firms that supported the case in Hungary for their support.

As previously reported, Ukraine returned funds and valuables to Oschadbank, which Hungarian special services seized in March of this year during the detention of Ukrainian collectors.

We remind you that the Hungarian authorities are ready to transfer two confiscated cars from Oschadbank to Ukraine; however, they do not plan to return the funds and gold.
