After Hungary Abduction Case, Ukraine Returns Funds to Oschadbank

Ukraine returned funds and valuables to Oschadbank that Hungarian special services seized in March of this year during the detention of Ukrainian collectors.

This was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to him, the incident occurred in the spring, when the Hungarian side unlawfully detained Ukrainian collectors along with money and valuables.

People were returned earlier, and now the funds and valuables themselves have been returned to Ukrainian territory—in full.

The president added that the Hungarian side took a constructive and civilized step.

“Grateful to Hungary for the constructive and civilized step,” he emphasized.

The head of state also thanked the Ukrainian team that worked to recover the funds and protect the state’s interests.

We remind you that the Hungarian authorities are ready to transfer two confiscated cars from Oschadbank to Ukraine; however, they do not plan to return the funds and gold.
