Lavrov threatened Poland with nuclear doctrine over missiles for Ukraine

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has threatened Poland over Warsaw’s intention to locate Patriot missile production facilities for Ukraine on its territory. He urged the Polish authorities to “carefully study” Russia’s military doctrine.

“In this regard, we have a military doctrine, which the president has repeatedly cited. We urge you to carefully study the relevant section of this extremely important document,” Lavrov said.

He did not provide other details.

The statement came amid Poland’s proposal to locate Patriot missile production for Ukraine on its territory. Warsaw argues that Polish territory would be safer for such a company. To launch production, appropriate agreements with the United States and permission to use American technology are required.

As a reminder, earlier “Pryamiy” wrote that Poland offered to host a Patriot missile production plant for Ukraine. Warsaw stated that this option would allow the company to be located in a more protected area.

“Pryamiy” also talked about the prospects for localizing the production of Patriot missiles and the role of Poland in this process.
