Massive shelling of Kyiv: Russians destroy Ukraine’s largest and oldest costume collection at Dovzhenko Film Studio

A fire broke out at the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio as a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv on June 15. The fire destroyed Ukraine’s largest and oldest costume collection and damaged the studio’s buildings.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy, Minister of Culture Tetyana Berezhna.
On the night of June 15, Russian forces struck the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio in Kyiv. The strike caused a fire on the studio’s premises and damaged the costume shop.
According to the Ministry of Culture, the largest and oldest costume collection in Ukraine has been destroyed. The film studio’s funds contained about 100,000 costumes and 3 million items of various clothing.
Other buildings and structures of the film studio were also damaged as a result of the attack. Rescue and emergency services are working at the scene to eliminate the consequences of the shelling.
“Russia is purposefully attacking not only civilian infrastructure and civilians, but also cultural institutions that preserve Ukrainian identity, memory, and history,” Berezhna said.
According to the minister, the destruction of cultural centers is an attempt to strike at the identity of the Ukrainian people.
The day before, it became known that in the Kovpakiv district of Sumy, a Russian drone of the Molniya type hit a multi-story residential building . Three people were injured in the attack, including an 11-year-old girl.
It was previously reported that Russian troops attacked the Dnipro and several districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region at night with drones, artillery, missiles and aerial bombs . The shelling injured two people and damaged enterprises, educational institutions, residential buildings and infrastructure.
By the way, on the night of June 15, Russian troops carried out a massive attack on Kyiv using ballistic missiles and drones. The shelling killed 4 people and injured at least 23 people, including a child. Also, on the night of June 15, Russian troops massively attacked the Kyiv region with drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. Three people, including a child, were injured as a result of the shelling, and damage was recorded in five districts of the region. At the same time , Russia struck the largest sorting terminal of Nova Poshta during a massive attack on Kyiv on the night of June 15.
