Meeting of the three: the great negotiations between the EU, the US and China have reached their climax

The European Union is trying to divide China and Russia so that Chinese leader Xi Jinping can influence Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin and end the war more quickly. At the same time, China is trying to separate the European Union from the United States and is ready to discuss the future of Russia in exchange for economic concessions.
This opinion was expressed on the air of “Pryamoy” by political scientist Oleg Sahakyan.
“These three entities are now preparing for something more serious. What we see is raising the stakes on all sides and building positions for bargaining. China wants to divide the EU and the US so that Europe does not stand in solidarity with the US on geopolitical issues. Accordingly, sanctions have been imposed against China, opposition to Chinese technological expansion, etc…. In exchange for this, China is ready to talk about the future of Russia, about whether this undefeated Russia will be and in what form,” Sahakyan noted.

Instead, the United States, he said, is currently saying that China is playing Russia as a proxy, and accordingly will “hit China for Russia’s actions.” In response, Chinese leader Xi Jinping is suggesting that Trump “meet the three of them” – Trump, Xi, and bring Putin to this meeting.
“In turn, Europe says: ‘You either demonstrate your commitment to the peace process now and then move deeper in putting pressure on Russia, or we remain in the cage with the US and then we will change the trade balance with China, which is not entirely fair. China is getting wide access to the European market – wider than Europe gets economically. So let’s pay for it with security, for access to our market,’” the political scientist explains the position of the European Union.
In general, he believes that negotiations between key global players will reach their peak in the near future, so we should expect many high-profile statements.
“In the near future, literally in another month or two, we will hear many loud statements from Washington, Brussels, individual European capitals, and Beijing. All these statements will be nothing more than bargaining. A significant part of them will go to waste. These will be cards that will be dealt. Therefore, neither harsh statements, nor conditional betrayal, nor victories should be taken at face value. These are all online negotiations now, which are difficult to even call negotiations, they are more like bargaining in the “business as usual” model, in the model of fierce competition,” political scientist Oleg Sahakyan summarized.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov recently said that a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US leader Donald Trump “will definitely take place in due course,” but that “this moment has not yet come.” The meeting is expected to capture “major agreements” that the parties have not yet reached. Russia, he assures, is “ready to move quickly.”
Earlier, it was reported that Moscow allegedly knew nothing about the preparation of a meeting between Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping. Thus, Peskov commented on information from The Times that Putin, Xi and Trump may meet in September at a military parade in China to mark the end of World War II.
At the same time, real peace talks between Ukraine and Russia are unlikely until the fall . After all, Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin is not interested in ending the war, and pressure from the United States and China is needed to change his position.
