MinDiCh: Where Friends and Suitcases Run the Ministry

We have sanctions against Mindich. Yet these very sanctions confirm that there is nothing legally wrong — and, in fact, they are aiding the president’s longtime friend, who has been sitting on his suitcases (not just full of dollars). Then, at the right moment, he received the message: “Run!”

Eighteen measures indicate that he was banned from trading, his assets were frozen for any commercial activity, and his radio frequency licenses were suspended. The measures were applied for three years, despite an initial recommendation of ten years.

Should NABU and SAPO request Mindich’s extradition, his lawyer could present the NSDC-approved sanctions to the judge, highlighting that the council itself included accomplices in the very crimes under investigation. From there, everything depends on the lawyer’s skill. Meanwhile, Zelenskyy’s friend was clearly pocketing money in Ukraine at a high price.

One more detail: when Zelenskyy imposed extrajudicial and indefinite (!) sanctions on Poroshenko, they included a ban on carrying out transactions — from paying taxes to registering as a candidate in elections. The three-year sanctions against Comrade Mindich, however, impose no such restrictions. And that is telling.

Are we waiting for the “DiCh Party – Friends and Suitcases” someday? In principle, it is already here, even without an official party.

As a reminder, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy imposed NSDC sanctions against the co-owner of Kvartal-95 Timur Mindich and businessman Oleksandr Zuckerman, who are linked to a corruption case in the energy sector.

The relevant decree shows that, despite earlier promises of sweeping sanctions, Zelenskyy limited them to just three years, even though a term of at least ten years had previously been discussed. The document also emphasizes that Mindich and Zuckerman are Israeli citizens — a detail that has long raised questions about the true criteria behind the current government’s sanctions policy.
