Mindichgate continues: how billion-dollar schemes worked at the Ministry of Defense

The dialogues between Mindich and Umerov, published by Mykhailo Tkach , are, of course, a 100% application for suspicion against the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

The tapes make it clear not only that Mindich is connected with FirePoint, that he manages the very process of production and attracting investment funds. But it turns out that the former Minister of Defense traveled to the UAE and lobbied for attracting investment in this particular campaign, and also pushed for the allocation of budget funds for it. 311 billion is half of the total budget of the AOZ and DOT. That is, half of the money allocated for the purchase of all ammunition.

Mindich asks Umerov to stay in the country to receive this money. Interestingly, at that time Umerov was considered a candidate for the post of Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States, but then he went to the Security Council. The configuration of appointments changed literally in a day. And now it is immediately clear why: Mindich needed Umerov in the country to solve his problems. They are talking about it directly.

Mindich says he needs a year, otherwise the smart Shmygal and Arakhamia will remove him from the trough. In fact, that’s what happened: at a meeting between FirePoint and the banks in the fall, Shmygal and his deputy Havrylyuk advised the company’s representatives to get a lip curler and curb their appetites.

Even armored vehicles worth 7 million dollars were not accepted under Shmyhal.

But NABU definitely has records that Mindich pressured the Ministry of Defense because of these bulletproof vests. And the minister did not send him, but agreed to talk about it. Let me remind you that Vinogradova specifically changed the qualification criteria so that these Mindich companies could enter.

I hope that after what Mykhailo said, NABU will also make a statement. Along with suspicion. Because it is better for Umerov to be under suspicion here and without a position than for him to be hung by the gills in the USA. Because, they say, his family is also in the field of curiosity there.

And also: judging by what was said, we should thank Mindich for opening up exports, because he needed it.

As a reminder, “Ukrainian Pravda” published the first part of the conversations documented by NABU in the “Midas” case in the apartment of currently sanctioned businessman Timur Mindich, who is suspected of corruption in the energy sector, with several people – former senior assistant to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Serhiy Shefir, Natalia, and current Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov.
