The de facto usurpation of power by one political force led to a personnel shortage and chaos in governance, which directly threatened the stability of the country during the Great War. Only a new coalition format could ensure consensus between the government and the Verkhovna Rada.
So, on the air of the “Pryamiy” TV channel, the People’s Deputy from “European Solidarity” Iryna Friz analyzed the current situation in parliament.
“The monomajority is dead. And to try to reanimate it or cover it with some false facade by adopting some decisions that supposedly indicate the ability of the majority to continue to be the majority… We really need to form a government of national unity, national salvation. It doesn’t matter what it is called. But it is one hundred percent the government whose decisions will be supported in parliament,” Friz said.
According to the politician, the current initiatives of the Svyrydenko government are not finding support in the hall due to the lack of normal communication and excessive control by the President’s Office.
The People’s Deputy is convinced that only a new coalition format will be able to ensure consensus between the legislative and executive branches of power for the sake of defending the state. Friz emphasizes that now is not the time for political narcissism, because the future depends on unity.
Recall that the fifth President Petro Poroshenko, during his speech in the Verkhovna Rada, stated that the crisis of public administration is deepening in Ukraine, and once again called for the creation of a coalition of national unity and a government of national salvation, the priorities of which should be financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine, European integration reforms, and social support for vulnerable categories.
As is known, parliamentary activity has been threatened by an acute crisis within the parliamentary body and a chronic lack of votes for decision-making. The next plenary session was canceled, which, according to political scientist Volodymyr Tsybulko, indicates deep internal contradictions among the elected representatives.
In addition, the crisis in the Ukrainian parliament is deepening due to ambiguous statements by the state’s top leadership regarding sending to the front those deputies who plan to resign early. Such rhetoric has sparked a wave of discussions about the legality and ethics of such steps within the walls of the Verkhovna Rada.
According to People’s Deputy Oleg Synyutka, the situation in the Verkhovna Rada indicates not just parliamentary unrest, but a full-fledged crisis of the entire power vertical . Since 2019, the parliament has been underthe strict control of the President’s Office , but now this management model has ceased to work effectively due to internal contradictions and corruption scandals.
