US President Donald Trump announced that a peace deal has been reached between the United States and Iran. According to him, the agreement includes the opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the lifting of the naval blockade by the US Navy.

He wrote about this in Truth Social .

On the night of June 15, Donald Trump announced that the agreement between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran had already entered into force.

“The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran has entered into force. Congratulations to all! I hereby fully authorize the unhindered opening of the Strait of Hormuz and, at the same time, authorize the immediate lifting of the naval blockade by the United States Navy. Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow!” said Donald Trump.

Shortly after the US President’s statement, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also announced that agreements had been reached between Washington and Tehran.

“After intensive negotiations, we are pleased to announce that a peace agreement between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been reached,” said Shehbaz Sharif.

According to him, the parties agreed to an immediate and final cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon.

Sharif also said that the official signing ceremony of the agreement is to take place on June 19 in Switzerland. Before that, the mediators will hold a series of meetings to prepare technical negotiations and finalize the agreements.

According to the released information, the memorandum between the US and Iran provides for:

  • a 60-day ceasefire, including Israeli military actions in Lebanon;
  • unblocking the Strait of Hormuz and restoring free navigation in the region;
  • negotiations between Washington and Tehran regarding Iran’s nuclear program, including the disposal of enriched uranium;
  • discussion of easing sanctions against Iran;
  • the release of frozen Iranian assets provided that Tehran fulfills its obligations.

The parties plan to continue the negotiation process in the coming weeks.

The day before, US President Donald Trump said that Washington and Tehran could soon sign a peace agreement . According to him, the signing of the document could take place this weekend in Europe.

As a reminder, Iran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to shipping amid a new escalation with the United States. However, Washington claims that the movement of ships through the strategic sea route continues as usual.

As reported, on the night of June 11, the United States continued its military operation against Iran and launched a new series of strikes on facilities that, according to the American side, are related to the country’s defense infrastructure.

It should be noted that the US launched new strikes on Iranian territory after an Iranian drone shot down an American AH-64 Apache attack helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz .
