Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin’s rejection of proposals for direct negotiations has deprived Russia of the opportunity to exit the war on more favorable terms, so the situation for Moscow will only worsen.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga.
“For Russia, the situation will only get worse. Losses on the battlefield will continue to grow, and failures will become more painful and humiliating. The economy will sink even deeper into recession. Unemployment will grow, taxes will increase, and inflation will hit the most vulnerable segments of the population the hardest,” the head of the department said.
The diplomat stressed that there are practically no safe places left on Russian territory that Ukrainian long-range weapons would not reach. In addition to military setbacks, the aggressor country faces increased sanctions pressure, travel restrictions, and the use of its frozen assets to support Ukraine.
The Russian authorities will still have to agree to a diplomatic path to ending the war, but the conditions will be much less favorable due to the Kremlin’s stubbornness, – Andriy Sybiga summarized.
On the eve of the event, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky published an open letter to Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin. In it, he called on the Russian leader to end the war and proposed a personal meeting.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, during a speech at an economic forum in St. Petersburg, commented on the letter from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, spoke about possible negotiations, the goals of the war, and attacks by Ukrainian drones on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Later, Zelensky announced that he had agreed to conduct new operations by the Security Service of Ukraine . The head of state announced the corresponding decision after the report of the SBU leadership on the results of work on the front and the special operations carried out. Also in the address, Zelensky commented on the statements of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who had previously rejected the possibility of a meeting at the level of leaders.
