Russia has delivered another batch of modernized Su-30SM2 multi-role fighters to Belarus. The aircraft are planned to be put on duty in the air defense system in the near future.

This is reported by Army Recognition .

It is noted that the deliveries took place on December 26, 2025 and were confirmed by the Belarusian Ministry of Defense, as well as Russian state media. Before being put into combat duty, the aircraft must undergo a short stage of technical development.

The transfer of the Su-30SM2 is part of long-standing military-technical cooperation between Russia and Belarus. Since 2012, the countries have had a joint regional air defense system, which provides for integrated deployment of aviation and air defense assets.

The number of fighters transferred in this batch has not been officially disclosed. However, journalists note that at least 2 aircraft were captured in the published photos during the race, which is consistent with the practice of previous deliveries.

The Su-30SM2 is a deeply modernized version of the Su-30SM fighter and belongs to the 4th generation plus aircraft. It is a two-seat, twin-engine multi-role fighter with a long flight range, a significant combat load, and high maneuverability.

The Su-30SM2 upgrade includes upgraded engines, modern onboard systems, an improved radar and electronic warfare capabilities. The aircraft is designed to perform missions of intercepting air targets, gaining air superiority, and striking ground and sea targets with precision weapons.

Journalists noted that the fighters are capable of using long-range weapons to engage air, ground, and sea targets in difficult airspace. The two-seat cockpit allows for more effective performance of complex combat and patrol missions.

The delivery of the Su-30SM2 strengthens Belarus’ aviation component and expands its capabilities within the framework of a joint air defense system with Russia. In 2025, Belarus also officially announced the receipt of other Russian weapons, including Tor-M2 anti-aircraft systems and Mi-35M helicopters.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russia has practically completed the transfer of medium-range ballistic missiles “Oreshnik” to the territory of Belarus , and this poses a direct danger to a number of European countries. At the same time, sanctions against the production of these missiles have not yet been introduced.

As a reminder, the Russian Oreshnik missile system has entered combat duty on the territory of Belarus.

As reported, Russia has no intention of giving up its goals regarding the occupied territories of Ukraine and is ready to achieve them both diplomatically and militarily.
