Sabotage of European integration and the Kremlin’s game: why Bankova was so afraid of Kudrytsky

The current government is delaying Ukraine’s European integration due to “certain obligations” of President Volodymyr Zelensky, as evidenced in particular by the persecution of the former head of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytsky, who successfully integrated the Ukrainian energy system with the European one.
This opinion was expressed on the air of “Pryamoy” by political scientist Volodymyr Tsybulko.
“It seems to me that for Zelensky, for his immediate environment, it is very important now, since society is very critical of this environment, to expose people from other backgrounds as their own. That is, as thieves, as swindlers, as manipulators. Although Kudrytsky has a very good reputation, and Western partners allocated loans for Kudrytsky,” Tsybulko noted.
He recalled that the attack against Kudrytskyi began during the time of Ukrenergo, when they tried to “squeeze” him out of the structure he headed due to the positive results of the company’s work.
“The company was in good standing, and it was Kudrytsky who connected the Ukrainian energy system to the European one. That is, in essence, this attack on the energy grid integrator with Europe is revenge or an attempt to shift responsibility from a certain Galushchenko, who is now the Minister of Justice, and for a long time was the Minister of Energy. And, of course, his protege, who is now the Minister of Energy,” the political scientist believes.
“It is obvious that they had a certain obligation to prevent the European integration of the Ukrainian energy grid and the existence of a more or less civilized company, which was a guarantee of European integration. There is a whole layer of people around Zelensky who are doing everything to prevent European integration from happening, to delay it for as long as possible. And, accordingly, within this framework, Ukraine, which is stuck in a gray area, could then come under Russian pressure. That is, this is a game for a long period,” Tsybulko explains.
In his opinion, the current government is doing everything it can to delay and sabotage Ukraine’s European integration due to Volodymyr Zelensky’s “prior commitments.”
“That is, no matter how much Zelensky swears that he is leading Ukraine to the European Union, we remember the story, for example, with the law on ARMA, which was part of the European integration commitments. The law was voted on, but Zelensky does not sign it for several months… This is sabotage. And, in fact, Zelensky, obviously, falls into the system of his previous commitments, which is why such circumstances arise when Zelensky swears to European partners that he is leading Ukraine to the EU, and when you look at freedom of speech, the rule of law, such fundamental values of Europe, they are trampled on in Ukraine. Such people are not accepted into the European Union. That’s the point,” summed up political scientist Volodymyr Tsybulko.
We will remind, the former executive director of NPC Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi became a subject of an investigation conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation . Investigators are checking his involvement in abuse of office and misappropriation of state company funds. The check concerns a possible artificial increase in the volume of deforestation and overestimation of the cost of work during the construction of energy highways.
Later, it became known that the State Bureau of Investigation raised new suspicions against businessman Ihor Hrynkevich, who is currently in custody, and detained the former head of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytsky in the Lviv region . He is accused of fraud on a particularly large scale and legalization of funds obtained by criminal means.
On October 29, the Pechersk Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for Kudrytskyi – he was sent to custody for two months, until December 26, with the possibility of bail in the amount of 13 million 730 thousand hryvnias. On October 30, bail was posted for the former head of Ukrenergo in the amount of almost 14 million hryvnias.
