Sevastopol announces attack on energy infrastructure and blackout

On the night of Wednesday, June 24, a series of explosions were heard in temporarily occupied Sevastopol. After that, a large-scale power outage occurred in the city.
This was announced by the Russian-appointed “governor” of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev.
According to him, the cause was a drone attack on energy infrastructure, which temporarily left part of the city without electricity.
“As a result of the enemy’s attack on our energy infrastructure, the city was temporarily left without electricity,” Razvozhaev said.
At the same time, local residents and monitoring channels reported explosions in various areas of occupied Crimea. According to the resource “Crimean Wind”, one of the targets of the attack could have been the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant in Sevastopol.
Explosions were also heard in the areas of Bakhchisaray, Kerch and Mount Ai-Petri. Eyewitnesses also reported a fire near the village of Shafranne, near the Gvardiyskoye military airfield.
According to monitoring resources, the warehouses of the 133rd separate logistics brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet could have caught fire after the attack.
Power outages were also reported in Simferopol and a number of settlements in the central part of the peninsula. The occupation authorities said they were assessing the extent of the damage.
As a reminder, on the night of June 22, drones attacked Moscow, the Moscow region, and temporarily occupied Crimea. The Russian capital announced the operation of air defense and temporary restrictions on airport operations, while Crimea reported strikes on the Tavria TPP and the building of the Russian FSB border service.
As reported, the railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal in temporarily occupied Crimea was destroyed.
