Last week, Ukrainian society watched the trial regarding the imposition of a preventive measure on former head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, which resembled a theatrical performance to raise funds for bail.

People’s Deputy from “European Solidarity” Oleg Synyutka expressed doubts about the sincerity of this process on the air of “Pryamoy”.

“This is a pack of spiders in a jar that will devour each other. And these are definitely not the people who stood on the Maidan, who created the Orange Revolution, who are defending our country at the front today,” the politician said.

According to him, the amount of bail was known a few days before the verdict was announced, so the long collection of money looks artificial. Moreover, the court set the amount 40 million hryvnias less than the prosecutor’s office requested.

The People’s Deputy is convinced that this situation demonstrates the true nature of the current leadership, where everyone cares only about their own safety and is afraid of questions from law enforcement officers. Many officials got their seats precisely thanks to the person involved in the case, which makes their position shaky, – added Oleg Synyutka.

In addition, he emphasized that phenomena like the “Yermakivshchyna” are destroying the country’s governance system, and called for a return to a model where the judicial branch and law enforcement officers act according to the letter of the law, and not according to instructions from phone calls.

At the same time, the people’s representative expressed his belief that an authoritarian approach will not help win the war, since only a democratic state is able to overcome external aggression and internal corruption.

We will remind, the former head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak was released from pre-trial detention on May 18, 2026. He was released on bail of 140 million hryvnias – 4 days after the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court chose for him a preventive measure in the form of detention with the alternative of bail in the money laundering case.

Later, the former official thanked everyone who helped collect the 140 million hryvnia bail and said he would remain in Ukraine. The former head of the OP also reiterated that he considers himself innocent and denies all charges.

By the way, the former head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak was taken from the pre-trial detention center on May 18 by guards who had previously been seen at state events with the participation of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. Journalists claim that three of them worked in state security a few months ago. At least one of them guarded the President of Ukraine for a long time.

As is known, NABU and SAPO have exposed an organized group suspected of legalizing 460 million hryvnias in an elite construction project near Kyiv. The suspicion was reported to one of the participants in the scheme, the former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine , Andriy Yermak .
