British radio station Radio Caroline apologized for erroneously reporting the death of King Charles. The station said the announcement was due to a computer error.

The Independent reports this.

Radio Caroline, which broadcasts throughout the south of England and the Midlands, announced the king’s death on May 19 and played the anthem “God Save the King.”

According to one listener, the broadcast suddenly ended, and the hosts announced the program was suspended. The broadcast was interrupted for approximately 15 minutes.

The presenters later apologized for the confusion and explained that there had been a computer error.

“A computer error in our main studio on Tuesday afternoon (May 19) accidentally activated the ‘Death of a Monarch’ procedure, which all UK stations keep on standby in the hope that it won’t be needed, and mistakenly announced that His Royal Highness the King had died,” the BBC wrote on social media.

He added that Radio Caroline had already broadcast Christmas messages from both the Queen and the King and hoped to continue to do so.

“We apologize to His Majesty the King and our listeners for any inconvenience,” the station’s director noted.

It was previously reported that the UK government had allowed the import of diesel and aviation fuel produced from Russian crude oil, if it was refined in third countries.

UK Defence Secretary John Gillian also ordered the expedited delivery of air defence systems and counter-drone equipment to Ukraine following the massive Russian attacks.
