The Regionals received a “golden share” and are entering big politics again

The current state of the Verkhovna Rada is characterized by a low level of trust from citizens and the forced cooperation of the monomajority with other political groups, which is why the Batkivshchyna political party and the former Party of Regionals received a “golden share” in the parliament.
This assessment of the situation in the Rada was given by the chairman of the board of the charitable foundation “Narodny Tyl” Heorhiy Tuka during a conversation on the air of “Pryamoy”, analyzing the legitimacy of the decisions made.
“Zelensky’s party lacks votes. In fact, today there are two political forces, unfortunately, both of them are present in the Verkhovna Rada. I mean Yulia Tymoshenko’s “Batkivshchyna” and “Rygov”. Both of these forces have what is called a “golden share” in political circles,” Tuka emphasized.
He noted that the ruling team is forced to seek support among representatives of banned parties or their former members to obtain the desired voting results, which in turn indicates the loss of the parliament’s subjectivity and internal “mess”, which is inferior in terms of support even to the previous convocation of the Verkhovna Rada.
In addition, Heorhiy Tuka warned about the danger of using the rhetoric of “peace” by pro-Russian forces, who will try to return to big politics under new slogans.
As a reminder, anti-corruption authorities have handed over suspicions to 41 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the 9th convocation. In total, over the 10 years since the anti-corruption authorities began their activities, suspicions have been received against 79 former and current people’s deputies. Among them is Yulia Tymoshenko, a deputy from the Batkivshchyna party.
By the way, Viktor Bobyrenko, an expert at the Bureau of Policy Analysis, on the air of “Pryamoy” expressed sharp criticism of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his “new young team” due to another corruption scandal, because despite the change of personnel in the Ministry of Defense and other departments, schemes to launder public funds continue to operate.
