President Donald Trump is using claims of an allegedly endless stockpile of American weapons as a tool for psychological pressure on Tehran. At the same time, the United States has announced an approximate timeframe for the end of the active phase of operations in the Middle East, which is about four to five weeks.
Oleksandr Krayev, an expert at the Foreign Policy Council “Ukrainian Prism”, expressed the opinion on the air of “Pryamoy” that such statements by the American leader are designed to demonstrate the US’s readiness for a long confrontation, despite criticism of the previous administration.
“This is actually part of his threats, because let’s not forget that yesterday he started blowing up this story that we don’t want a ground operation, but if, say, such a situation were to arise, then… he almost said the Russian phrase “we will stand at any price”. But in fact, I think Trump would have liked it. You know, it’s very much in his style. Therefore, it seems to me that in this vein, it’s simply an attempt at this stage to intimidate Iran and an attempt to show that in case of something they are ready for prolonged aggression,” Krayev noted.
At the same time, Trump continues to promote the idea that Joe Biden spent about $300 billion on the war in Ukraine without proper results. His key task in the context of Russian aggression is to return these funds to the United States. According to the expert, this fits into Trump’s general concept, according to which all partners should pay the United States for support and security.
However, American law imposes strict restrictions on the use of armed forces by the president without the formal consent of parliament. Krayev explained that legal norms that have been in effect since the Vietnam campaign force the head of the White House to act as quickly as possible. Trump has already announced an approximate time frame for completing the active phase of operations in the Middle East, which is about four to five weeks.
“He will have to somehow complete it faster during this period. It is not for nothing that, again, in his communication with journalists, he said that he was convinced that this would all be over within four to five weeks,” the studio guest noted.
On the eve of the US Vice President J.D. Vance said that the key goal of the operation against Iran is to prevent the country from acquiring nuclear weapons. He also emphasized that Iranian nuclear facilities were created not only for peaceful uranium enrichment, but also for the purpose of developing nuclear weapons. The Vice President also said that there is no question of a long-term military operation .
Meanwhile, the Israeli military announced the destruction of an Iranian nuclear facility located on the outskirts of Tehran. An IDF spokeswoman said that the Minzadeh facility was located partially underground. There, a group of nuclear scientists allegedly worked secretly on the development of components necessary for nuclear weapons.
Instead, official Tehran warned Europeans against joining the war amid statements by some countries about the possibility of defensive measures. The Foreign Ministry warned that any defense would be viewed by Iran as a provocation, after which European cities could come under attack .
By the way, US President Donald Trump’s shift from lengthy negotiations to direct use of force in the Middle East has caused serious concern in the Kremlin. Against this background, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is currently in a rather complicated psychological state, close to hysteria .
