The Verkhovna Rada has spoken – Poroshenko called for Andriy Parubiy to be awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine

The fifth President of Ukraine and leader of “European Solidarity” Petro Poroshenko reacted to the positive vote of the Verkhovna Rada on the request to the President to award the title of Hero of Ukraine to Andriy Parubiy (posthumously).

This was reported by the press serviceof Eurosolidarity .

“The people have already spoken: Andriy Parubiy is a Hero of Ukraine. The petition to award Andriy a higher title gained the necessary number of votes in just a few days. The European Parliament honored the memory of Andriy Parubiy in its resolution – a unique case when European politicians, evaluating our struggle, name a specific name,” Poroshenko recalled.

He added that the Verkhovna Rada also had its say.

“230 votes supported our appeal to award Andriy Parubiy the title of Hero of Ukraine. At the same time, the only crazy vote against is also indignant – from Bragar’s “servant”. This is the one who suggests that Ukrainians sell a dog for utility debts. The same one who was stopped by the police for drunk driving. And now he has reached for the red button against the opinion of Ukrainians and Europeans,” the leader of Eurosolidarity was indignant.

Poroshenko emphasized that the terrorist attack that took Parubiy’s life should unite us even more.

“Today’s vote is also the support of Andriy’s loved ones. Who can deny that Andriy Parubiy is a Hero? He is the commandant of the Maidan, the creator of Self-Defense, a man who led others through the most difficult days of the Revolution of Dignity. He is the defender of Kyiv in 2022, who died on August 30, 2025 in the war at the hands of the enemy for each of us. Andriy Parubiy embodies a generation that did not give in and proved to the whole world: Ukraine will exist. The people have already given him the highest recognition. I hope for a positive decision from the President as soon as possible,” Petro Poroshenko wrote.

Let us recall that on August 30 , public and political figure Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv . Later, it became known that the Lviv region is searching for the shooter who killed the current deputy from “European Solidarity” and former chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy . A photo of the alleged killer is being published on the Internet.

Later, journalists reported that MP Andriy Parubiy was shot 8 times by a man disguised as a courier. By the way, a video of the moment of the murder of the MP from the “European Solidarity” and former speaker of parliament Andriy Parubiy appeared on social networks.

It is worth noting that the SBU reported on the possible involvement of Russian special services in organizing the assassination attempt on MP Andriy Parubiy.
