In about six months, Russia will be able to control Ukraine’s drones and missiles online using its own Rassvet satellite system.

This was stated by Sergei (“Flash”) Beskrestnov, presidential adviser on technological innovation, in an interview with the Associated Press . According to him, Russia already has periods when its satellites are over Ukrainian territory, providing communications for 30-40 minutes. This already allows it to control drones like the Shahed, reconnaissance drones, and even inexpensive missiles like the Banderol and Dan-M in real time.

Ukraine’s own satellite communications would render useless the electronic warfare (EW) network deployed across the country to suppress such targets. According to Flash’s estimates, full coverage could be achieved in a relatively short timeframe—approximately six months—and the Russians would be able to strike targets with great precision.

“This will be a real disaster for everyone,” Flash concluded.

Flash previously demonstrated what compact MESH repeaters look like for maintaining contact with the “shahids” during a flight over Ukraine.
