US President Donald Trump has accused Ukrainian authorities of showing no gratitude for his efforts to end the war, and has criticized his predecessor Joe Biden for allowing Russia to launch a full-scale attack.
He wrote about this in Truth Social .
Trump blamed Ukraine’s leadership and the previous US administration for making a full-scale Russian invasion possible, citing a lack of proper leadership from the US and Ukraine that he said could have prevented the war.
“The current war between Russia and Ukraine would never have happened under strong and proper leadership from the United States and Ukraine,” said Donald Trump.
In his statement, he also repeated claims about the allegedly rigged 2020 US elections.
“If the 2020 presidential election had not been rigged and stolen – the only thing the radical left Democrats know how to do – there would have been no war between Ukraine and Russia, as there was no mention of it, during my first term in office. Putin would never have attacked!”, said Donald Trump.
The US President emphasized that the war has tragic consequences for the civilian population.
“War is a lose-lose situation for everyone, especially the millions of people who have died so senselessly,” said Donald Trump.
He also criticized the Ukrainian leadership for the lack of gratitude for the support.
“The Ukrainian leadership has not expressed any gratitude for our efforts, and Europe continues to buy oil from Russia,” said Donald Trump.
Separately, Trump said that the United States is selling weapons to NATO allies.
“The United States continues to sell NATO a huge amount of weapons, which are then sent to Ukraine,” said Donald Trump.
It is worth adding that Trump’s comment came against the backdrop of negotiations on the American peace plan, which are currently underway in Geneva.
As is known, on Sunday, November 23, negotiations between the US, Ukraine and the EU regarding Donald Trump’s new “peace plan” will be held in Geneva (Switzerland). The purpose of the meeting is to agree on the wording for the upcoming meeting of the presidents of Ukraine and the US.
A group of Western leaders released a joint statement on the initial draft of the US peace plan for Ukraine on Tuesday. They stressed that the document could serve as a basis for work, but needed to be refined.
Earlier, key provisions of the draft US “peace plan” , allegedly agreed upon by representatives of Donald Trump and the Kremlin, became known. The document contains 28 points relating to the security, territories, economy and political future of Ukraine.
Subsequently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the composition of the delegation for consultations with international partners on ending the war.
