US President Donald Trump expressed disappointment with Vladimir Putin’s actions at the G7 summit and said Ukraine was “doing pretty well” on the battlefield. He also signaled a willingness to increase pressure on Russia and renegotiate previous agreements on the war, according to sources.

This is reported by Axios .

According to two officials who attended the G7 summit, Donald Trump, after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and speaking with Vladimir Putin, said that Ukraine was “doing pretty well” on the battlefield.

The publication’s interlocutors also reported that the US president expressed disappointment with Putin’s actions.

In addition, according to sources, Trump signaled his willingness to abandon the so-called “Anchorage Accords.” They provided for the United States’ agreement to Russia’s demand for control over unoccupied parts of eastern Ukraine as part of a possible future peace agreement.

One official who attended the summit noted that Trump has shown skepticism about everything related to Putin and has spoken of the need to put pressure on Russia, but other world leaders doubt that the United States will take real steps in this direction anytime soon.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that no agreements were reached between the American and Russian sides during the talks in Alaska . The Kremlin responded to his words, saying that they raise questions.

Recall that an aide to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, Yuri Ushakov, said that Russia no longer expects the implementation of the agreements that were allegedly reached during the meeting between Putin and Donald Trump in Anchorage . According to him, Moscow is betting on achieving its own goals in the war against Ukraine.
