Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed decrees putting into effect decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on sanctions against Russian and Iranian companies and citizens. Restrictions have also been imposed against Russian Paralympians who participated in the war against Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the President’s Office.

It is noted that sanctions were imposed against individuals and companies involved in servicing Russia’s military-industrial complex. The package includes 130 individuals and 48 legal entities .

Among them are companies involved in supplying components for the production of satellite navigation equipment of the “Comet” series. Such equipment is used in Russian drones, cruise and ballistic missiles, guided munitions and aircraft used by Russia to bomb Ukrainian cities and communities.

The sanctions list also includes enterprises involved in the production of the Oreshnik missile complex.

In addition, sanctions have been imposed on Iranian companies and citizens involved in the production of Iranian drones and missiles. These weapons are used not only against Ukraine, but also in the Middle East against the Gulf countries.

According to the Office of the President of Ukraine, these legal entities and individuals helped Russia launch, deploy, and scale up the production of Shahed drones on Russian territory.

Sanctions were also applied to Iranian instructors who trained Russian Shahed drone operators, who later attacked Ukrainian cities and energy facilities.

“The Russian and Iranian military-industrial complexes have long been interconnected. With this sanctions package, we are exposing key participants involved in the production of weapons of mass destruction used in Russia’s attacks on Ukraine and Iran’s attacks on many countries. The world must do much more to disrupt these supply chains, including critical components, and effectively counter this cooperation. And we will work to synchronize these sanctions,” said Vladyslav Vlasyuk, Presidential Advisor and Commissioner for Sanctions Policy.

A separate sanction decision concerns 10 Russian Paralympians. According to the Office of the President of Ukraine, all of them participated in Russia’s war against Ukraine.

It is noted that these individuals spread Russian propaganda and use sporting events as a platform to justify Russia’s actions and occupation of Ukrainian territories.

As is known, on the fourth anniversary of the Russian invasion, February 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree introducing new sanctions against Russians.

Earlier, a decree appeared imposing sanctions against 10 Russian transport and logistics companies . These are companies that deliver cargo to Ukrainian territories temporarily occupied by Russia.

As a reminder, in February, Zelensky implemented the NSDC decision to impose sanctions against 225 captains of ships of the Russian shadow fleet and individuals and companies associated with servicing the Russian military-industrial complex.
