Without harming the front: how Ukraine can help the Middle East

The involvement of Ukrainian specialists and unmanned systems to assist partners in the Persian Gulf will not necessarily lead to a weakening of the front if the state competently uses available resources and involves enterprises that are currently operating at only 30-50% of their capacity.
This opinion was expressed on the air of “Pryamoy” by politician and former military serviceman Volodymyr Omelyan.
“If the state approaches wisely and actually uses the underutilization of Ukrainian companies that could produce more… then we can form a sufficiently strong team and provide it with the necessary interceptors,” the studio guest noted.
According to him, Ukrainian companies, which are currently operating at only 30-50% of their capacity due to lack of funding, could become a resource for such diplomacy. It is also advisable to involve veterans with combat experience who have been officially discharged from the Armed Forces in such missions. Such a step would allow strengthening interaction with partners for decades to come, without creating a shortage of personnel on the front lines, Omelyan emphasized.
He gave the example of a Ukrainian company that was able to attract 50 million pounds of investment, which raised its valuation to a billion dollars. Such integration into Western defense technologies will allow the Ukrainian military-industrial complex to transform and gain access to military segments of production instead of commercial ones, the politician is convinced.
“Is this an indicator? Yes, undoubtedly, this is an indicator. And there can be more such things, there should be more such companies. And their integration into Western defense, access to Western military technologies will give us even better efficiency,” Volodymyr Omelyan noted.
On the eve, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the United States has asked Ukraine for help in protecting against Shahed suicide drones in the Middle East. According to the head of state, Washington has asked Kyiv to provide specific support to counter these drones in the region.
At the same time, Zelenskyy commented on concerns about the consequences of the war in the Middle East and the possible impact on air defense supplies to Ukraine. According to him, if the military operation continues , the US may reduce the supply of relevant weapons .
Meanwhile, Washington is already preparing for a protracted confrontation with Iran . US Central Command has asked the Pentagon to send additional personnel to support the operation, which could indicate preparations for combat operations lasting at least 100 days.
