The Verkhovna Rada Committee spoke in defense of freedom of speech and called on the National Council to review the decision on “PRIAMYI FM”
The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information will request that the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting review the decision to notify the licenses of “PRIAMYI FM” radio stations.
Three members of the Committee voted in favor of the decision, and another abstained.
The chairman of the Committee, People’s Deputy Nestor Shufrych, spoke about the political motivation of the National Council’s decision.
“Now, to work out your own decision, you are starting to destroy the resources… It is a shame. If you had one hundred percent grounds for this, we would not meet today.
And why didn’t you consider this question on November 10? The year passed on November 9. Because, according to the National Council, November 9 was an offense. What have you been dragging on for almost a year?” – He said.
“Radio has every chance to win in court. But I ask you not to bring the case to court,” said a member of the relevant Committee, Eugene Bragar.
We will remind, “PRIAMYI FM” filed in the District administrative court of Kiev the claim to The National Сouncil of Television and Radio Broadcasting.
On September 3, the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council revoked “PRIAMYI FM” broadcasting license.
