Russia is intensifying global terror: People’s Deputy named the reason for Parubiy’s murder

Andriy Parubiy, known for his pro-Ukrainian positions, was left without state protection, despite threats to his life. Russia has always used such methods against Ukrainian political leaders, as confirmed by historical examples from the 20th century.

This was stated on the air of “Pryamoy” by Volodymyr Viatrovych, a people’s deputy from “European Solidarity”.

“For several years, at least from what I saw, Andriy has not had state protection. The last protection he had was somewhere, probably in 2022. Despite the fact that there was already an attempt on his life in 2015-2016, and they tried to kill him with a grenade. Despite the fact that every time information appeared about possible attempts, about some enemies of Russia who were on some list for elimination, Andriy was always on these lists as one of the most ardent enemies of Russia. Therefore, I think that the state should provide him with proper protection,” Viatrovych noted.

“This is undoubtedly an attempt by Russia to intensify this global terror that it is waging against Ukraine, to supplement these terrible morning bombings of Ukraine with targeted liquidations of those people who are symbols of anti-Russian policy,” the people’s deputy emphasized.

At the same time, he recalled that Russia always uses such methods against the leaders of the Ukrainian patriotic movement. “There are a lot of vivid, bloody parallels with what Russia did with the leaders of the Ukrainian movement in the 20th century. Whether it’s the murder of Petliura, or the murder of Konovalets, or the murder of Bandera – this is absolutely the Chekist handwriting,” Viatrovych noted.

The people’s representative is convinced that Andriy Parubiy was killed for his pro-Ukrainian political position, because he was one of the implementers of the Ukrainization policy.

“He really made Ukraine more Ukrainian than it was before. And I think that such people are extremely valuable for the Ukrainian movement. Such people should be among those who would be protected by state security. I am sure that it was his political activities. Because Andriy was completely focused on politics. This is a person who had no activities, did not deal with any business issues… I believe that his contribution to the modern history of Ukraine is very powerful, and it will still be properly appreciated,” said Volodymyr Viatrovych, a People’s Deputy from Eurosolidarity.

As a reminder, on August 30, former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and MP from the European Solidarity party Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv. He was one of the symbols of resistance to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Later it became known that the shooter was being sought in the Lviv region, and a photo of the alleged killer was published on the Internet. According to eyewitnesses,the shooter was a courier from the Glovo service, who then hid the gun in his bag. A video of the moment of the murder of the MP also appeared on social networks.

In connection with this, a special operation “Siren” was announced in Lviv. The media instead reported that the police had allegedly already tracked down the criminal .

The leadership of the Verkhovna Rada, people’s deputies, the apparatus and its employees expressed condolences in connection with the murder of Andriy Parubiy, a people’s deputy of several convocations and the chairman of the parliament of the 8th convocation. European officials also commented on this crime, calling it terrible.

Later, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the murder of the People’s Deputy and former Speaker of the Parliament Andriy Parubiy was carefully prepared . According to him, the SBU is also involved in the investigation. The head of state also instructed to immediately provide the society with verified information.

Meanwhile, the European Solidarity faction made an official statement regarding the death of Andriy Parubiy. Colleagues and friends reacted to the murder, calling it cynical and cruel . “The murder of Andriy Parubiy is a shot in the heart of Ukraine ,” stressed the fifth President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko.
