The case of extorting a quarter of a million dollars in bribes, in which a member of parliament appears, is a direct consequence of the political choice of Ukrainians in 2019.

This opinion was expressed on the air of “Pryamoy” by Viktor Bobyrenko, an expert from the Bureau of Policy Analysis, commenting on the searches of Anna Skorokhod, whom law enforcement officers suspect of organizing a criminal group.

According to him, this situation was a reproach to those who voted for the “list of no-names” and non-systemic politicians proposed by Zelensky’s team. He stressed the importance of checking the reputation and background of candidates before the elections.

“This is another direct rebuke to the people who in 2019 voted for… showmen, for a list of no-names, where they actually voted for the method proposed by Zelensky’s team,” the expert from the Bureau of Policy Analysis noted.

According to Bobyrenko, the latest corruption scandals are a consequence of the selection of candidates without political experience, reputation, and clear ideology. He recalled that suspicions have already been raised against about 30 deputies from the “Servants of the People” party, and several dozen more are “in development.”

Bobyrenko emphasizes that voters, by supporting “new faces” without a background, actually chose corruption themselves.

Commenting on the deputy’s statement about “pressure on the opposition,” the studio guest expressed doubt about her oppositional nature, pointing out that the “For the Future” group is associated with Ihor Kolomoisky and often supports government initiatives, including the budget. “If she is the opposition, then I am a Chinese pilot,” Viktor Bobyrenko ironically summarized.

As a reminder, the SBU, NABU, and SAPO exposed a criminal group in Kyiv led by Hanna Skorokhod, a member of parliament from the For the Future party. The MP emphasized that she sees such actions as “direct pressure on the opposition and an attempt to block political activity due to a principled position.”

Anna Skorokhod is suspected of receiving a large bribe. As sources told “UP”, she and her accomplices extorted $250,000 from an entrepreneur.

Later, journalist Andriy Tsaplienko published a fragment of the negotiations, where the People’s Deputy Skorokhod threatens the entrepreneur : “What am I here for, you fucking gin jar? I can hire guys who will take you somewhere in the alley to the house.”
