What will change in booking from September 1 and who is at risk of losing the deferral?

The transition period for businesses that must re-confirm their critical status ends in Ukraine on September 1. If a company fails to do so in time, its employees may lose their mobilization reservations.

These are enterprises whose criticality decisions were in effect as of June 2, 2026. They retain their status within the established period, but no longer than until September 1.

For companies that submitted the necessary salary documents by August 10, a transitional mechanism was provided that allows them to maintain their status without interruption.

One of the main conditions for confirming criticality remains the salary of reserved employees. On average, it should be at least UAH 25,941. For enterprises in combat zones – from UAH 21,618.

In doing so, they take into account the salary for the last completed calendar month. That is, if a company submits documents in August, they will mainly check the figures for July. Therefore, simply increasing salaries at the end of August to meet the deadline will not work.

Another important point – even after confirmation of the status of a critical enterprise, the reservation of employees is not automatically extended. The company must separately issue or extend it through “Diya”.

This may cause a gap between the old and new reservations. The authorized bodies may consider the company’s documents for up to 10 business days. If the company submits them at the end of August, a decision may be made after September 1.

However, the government did not introduce a general “grace period” after the deadline. The mere fact that a company has submitted documents does not mean an automatic extension of its status or reservation of employees.

At the same time, this does not mean that all employees of critical enterprises will lose their reservation at the same time from September 1. In each case, it is necessary to look at the validity period of the enterprise status and the specific employee deferral.

If a company loses its critical status, its employees may have their reservations canceled. After that, the conscript will no longer have a deferment from the draft and may be subject to mobilization under the general procedure.

The law does not provide for a separate time period for finding a new job with the possibility of booking.
