Anti-Trump hysteria: Bankova’s games almost thwarted US aid

In recent months, the Office of the President has been conducting a powerful information campaign against President Donald Trump to cover up the reputational losses associated with the conflict in the Oval Office, which has led to a temporary suspension of military aid from the United States.
This was stated on the air of “Pryamoy” by the head of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine, Oleksiy Koshel.
“First of all, I would really like individual “hotheads”, of which there are actually a lot in the Ukrainian government, to feel some responsibility for the anti-Trump campaign that has been conducted for the last 4-5 months. It was powerful, a huge number of media, or rather media, were involved, there were various channels, telegrams, huge budgets were allocated for this. And this anti-American, anti-Trump hysteria took place,” Koshel recalled.
In his opinion, in this way Bankova sought to cover the reputational losses associated with the failure in the Oval Office, when an unprecedented conflict arose between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States.
“And this undoubtedly affected Ukrainian-American relations, because Washington is not blind, they clearly see what the mood is, what the situation is today in Ukraine. That is, we could receive such decisions faster, we could receive more weapons, equipment, and other things, if we had normalized, at least partially, Ukrainian-American relations,” the head of the CVU added.
In addition, he recalled that the issue of replacing Ambassador Oksana Markarova remains open, as Ukrainian diplomacy made many mistakes during the election campaign in the US.
“The issue of replacing the ambassador to the US is on the agenda only today. But, I apologize, we clearly understood six months ago, seven months ago, that we had a problem with the ambassador. I am not against Markarova, I like her professionalism. But a mistake was made during the election campaign, a catastrophic one. It turned out that Ukraine actually played along with the Democrats, so there could be no normal relations with the president from the Republicans. This decision should have been made six months ago,” Oleksiy Koshel noted.
Recall that recently, the British edition of The Economist published an article stating that the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, is behind the personnel changes in the government . It is noted that he is making attempts to remove certain officials, instead promoting the “necessary” people for himself. Thus, according to three interlocutors who spoke on condition of anonymity, the head of the OP influenced the course of the Chernyshov case. In particular, it was he who allowed it to advance, while he froze others.
Meanwhile, Yermak himself is increasingly becoming a source of irritation in Washington . This is confirmed by more than a dozen sources among former and current US officials, as well as congressional aides. Some of the interlocutors describe Yermak as overly demanding, harsh in communication and poorly informed about domestic US politics. Some express concerns that he may have inaccurately conveyed Washington’s position to the Ukrainian leadership. One source described him as a “ bipartisan irritant .”
By the way, the publications in the media of materials regarding the role of the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, in the processes of curtailing democracy indicate that the patience of the Western allies has already run out , so Bankova should draw her own conclusions so that our country does not lose military assistance, – believes public figure Karl Volokh.
