From White House to White Elephants: How the “Trump Plan” Became a Billionaire-Sized Fiasco

If you haven’t seen the series Billionaire’s Bunker, now is the time. It’s a striking illustration of how effortlessly people who are neither foolish nor destitute can be manipulated and controlled.

For three days, the world debated the “Trump plan” — a plan that Trump himself had never seen. Even Trump’s own entourage had no idea where it had come from.

As you might expect, no one dared publicly to question or deny anything, because after all, it was “Trump’s plan.”

Everyone learned about these shameful 28 points from the media. That’s how it unfolded.

The information was leaked by a group of three people who hold no official status in the American political system: Dmitriev, Witkoff, and a so-called “minimal minder” — Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

It was a brilliant Kremlin operation, allowing them to shift the agenda and force a discussion of the nonsense and rosy dreams of the Kremlin elder.

Even Secretary of State Marco Rubio had not seen that piece of paper and was forced to comment on it publicly.

European leaders learned about the “Trump plan” from the news.

While everyone was still processing the question — was this even possible? — The discussion was unfolding according to the Moscow scenario. It was actually the “Dmitriev–Witkoff plan” that became the foundation, which key world politicians began to amend and rewrite.

The Washington Post reports: “Trump did not delve into the details of his administration’s ‘peace plan’ for Ukraine. White House units do not know what is happening.”

An unnamed U.S. official put it even more bluntly: “You tell Trump, ‘I’ll try to make a deal.’ He says, ‘Great, see what we can do.’ And that’s the extent of the information he has.”

Meanwhile, Ukrainian politicians are constantly apologizing to and thanking one another. With faces frozen in what they try to pass off as smiles, they attempt to show that they understand where they are and what is happening.

Europeans are on their knees, scrambling to correct the absurd points of the “Trump plan,” which in reality turned out to be the “Putin plan,” in an effort to give it even a semblance of decency.

Again, everyone thanks Trump.

But in between the thanks, voices of reason try to be heard — or rather, they shout that the “plan” is not really a plan; it resembles “Munich” and has already happened.

In the finale, the American and Ukrainian members of the delegation attend a joint dinner.

Yermak and Rubio take pictures, insisting that everything is fine.

Yermak writes: “We had a very productive first meeting with the esteemed American delegation. We have made excellent progress and are moving forward toward a just and lasting peace.”

All sides vaguely hint at hope and report that everything is going as well as ever, claiming that we are all “two meters from the end of the war.”

Meanwhile, Putin talks to Erdoğan, saying that the first draft of the “Trump plan” was great — but everything else was not. His assistant Ushakov immediately clarifies that the alternative European peace plan is “absolutely not constructively suitable” for Russia.

Meanwhile, in Luanda, Angola, European Union leaders convened for an informal summit to discuss a “peace plan for Ukraine.”

Since they are already in Africa, perhaps they should seek help from shamans — because every other way of influencing two men, one a criminal and the other a psychopath, appears to be exhausted.

Everyone willing is now publishing their own version of the “Trump plan,” each with amendments and clarifications.

For now, there will be no meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy. The meeting was promised, with the caveat that it would only happen if their positions were aligned.

Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada has no understanding of what is happening.

The people of Ukraine are deeply — let’s call it — bewildered.

And since nothing depends on us anymore, we might as well watch the film.  House of Dynamite — that’s the title.

I suspect the cosmic chaos shown in that film is not an exaggeration.

The war continues.
